I’m a co-founder and current staff member at Princeton Learning Cooperative where I mentor teenagers, teach some classes, fill out a lot of forms for state government agencies, insurance and payroll companies and spread the message that – HEY! – you don’t need to go to school to have a successful and meaningful life.

I’m also a co-founder and board member of Liberated Learners. I mentor professionals who want to start self-directed learning centers and spread the message that – HEY! – you don’t have to have a job in a school to work with teenagers in a meaningful way (I also fill out some paperwork here too.) I just wrote a book about starting self-directed learning centers.

Before all this, I was a social studies teacher for 11 years, evenly split between high school and middle school.

I’m originally from Napoleon, Ohio and currently reside outside of Philadelphia.
